About This Project
Wize Up was implemented through the Soul City Regional partnership targeting youth on sexual and reproductive health and HIV prevention. The initiative was supported by SIDA and NORAD and implemented initially in Malawi and Swaziland and later on in Zimbabwe.
The initiative involved the production, beaming and social marketing of television and radio talk show programs that aimed at providing comprehensive information on growing up and sexual and reproductive health to young people in order for them to make informed choices. The talk shows were produced with the contextual understanding that young people are faced with a lot of challenges in accessing information relating to sexual and reproductive health. A major concern in the global response to HIV is how to ensure that young people take their rightful place as active participants with access to high quality HIV services and the right skills and knowledge to adopt strategies to stay safe, delivered in a supportive environment.
