About GF-AGYW
This is a three-year (2021-2023) HIV prevention project targeting 10-24 years in-school and out-of-school Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW). It is being implemented with support from Global Fund through World Vision Malawi as a principal recipient by Pakachere IHDC, Girls Empowerment Network (GENET), Action AID and Plan International in 4 districts of Thyolo, Mulanje, Mangochi and Lilongwe.
In Thyolo district, Pakachere IHDC is targeting primary and secondary school going AGYW in both public and private schools across the district through matrons and patrons; and out of school AGYW in ten Traditional Authorities (TAs) of Bvumbwe, Nanseta, Nchiramwera, Nsabwe, Chimaliro, Kapichi, Ngolongoliwa, Mphuka, Thomasi and Khwethemule.
Pakachere works with various governmebt departments, including Ministry of Health (through Thyolo DHO) , Gender, Social Welfare, Police, Judiciary, Education and Youth departments at district level. At VDC level the project is working with Community Based Organization (CBO) and Peer Educators (PEs).
